Dance It Out
Weekly Reading Topic for April 18, 2020:
Well, good morning, love! I just opened a Reading for you, my newsletter subscribers and here’s what I heard in answer to the following:
What do my readers most need to hear this weekend? What is the most important message to send to my beloved readers?
The answer was: “DANCE IT OUT!!”
What follows is your weekly reading, dear one.
Weekly Reading │ DANCE IT OUT!!
Q: What do we need to know about “DANCE IT OUT!!?”
A: The message I’m getting this week is almost completely unintelligible in words. It’s all movement, all pacing, all punch.
Nouns, verbs, sentences, paragraphs, themes … GONE.
Not necessary.
We have been sitting and stagnating, for several weeks now, mostly due to our quarantine and sometimes due to our stinking thinking.
It’s time to use the human body for what it is intended: movement.
Our bodies move all the time, even when it looks like we are at rest.
Our liver churns out enzymes and breaks down toxins while we sleep. Do you think nothing’s moving? It’s a firestorm of tasks, every night!
Our hearts are pumping unbelievable volumes of blood every few seconds. Think about it: your heart is a muscle that NEVER STOPS CONTRACTING. It works for your entire life!
Our intestines are lined with little waving fingers called cilia, which pick up every molecule of food we take in. These little bristles examine and classify and sort and send, millions of busy little hands working, working, working.
Our nerve endings buzz like a million bees, sending and receiving, telling each other about the nearest nectar, the state of the queen.
We are not meant to sit and stew. Even when we cannot leave our homes, we are meant to
DANCE.
IT.
OUT.
Our bodies dance all day and all night, organs weaving their hips and flowing their arms in endless figure eights. There are feet stamping and hands clapping and hair is tossing.
It’s time to take that dance and put it out in the world. Or, at least, your living room.
So this weekend, take a moment or two or twenty and simply allow the large muscles of your body to move. Put on music, any music, and DANCE IT OUT.
It does not matter if your dance is pretty, or silly, or strict, or soft or hard or athletic. If you cannot move, if you are sick or stuck in place, dance anyway.
Your shoulders count, your neck, your head bobbing. It counts.
DANCE IT OUT.
It’s time to release some of the energy of this transition, some of the trauma we’ve collected (whatever that trauma looks like to you).
And sometimes, dance is the only way to do it.
Dance is probably the first art form, well, after music. Or, wait, which one DID come first?
No matter. They go together.
Play music, so loudly that you cannot hear anything else. Any music! Dance!!
And as you dance, allow your body to make all the moves that it wants to. It may not look quite like dancing … and that’s OK. This is not for anyone else. It’s just for YOU.
If we do not dance, we run the risk of collecting the trauma and saturating our cells with it, and that can poison our brain, and then we start believing our own bullshit.
And that is the most dangerous thing we can do.
So put on your music (or don’t) and ask your loved ones to join you (or don’t) and DANCE IT OUT.
And don’t stop until you feel … freed.
To freedom!
Much Love to You!
Molly
